Quote: Before patch mission rewards were great, and travel time was awesome. I was actually coming out equal to what a good miner can do for their time.
Note: from a game design perspective the agent system is not intended to pay off as much as mining ISK wise. Agents give standings as their primary reward. The only other activity within EVE that gives any standings is pirate killing, which (depending on the bug of the day) only gives CONCORD corp standings at a dreadfully slow rate.
Quote: After patch mission travel times doubled due to grid fixes, and rewards plumetted, almost in half what I used to get. As it stands the commodity supply missions prepatch i could come out even, sometimes on top... now I'm losing buttloads of isk to complete these missions.
If the grid fixes changed the travel times significantly, that should increase the mission average time and will be taken into account.
Quote: Every patch seems to be more and more lucrative for those Pirate PK'rs and less so for those of us who detest PK and want to play other aspects of the game. I'm beginning to feel like I'll have to somehow start doing what I detest to make it anywhere in this game.
If ISK is your goal, the agents have not been intended to pay off in ISK as well as other gaming styles up to now. That being said however, perhaps brighter days are coming. Our Game Design dudes have seen the errors of their ways and are going to discuss the Agent Reward Situation, with the strong point in mind that perhaps agents shouldn't be at such a heavy financial disadvantage towards mining and pirate hunting... I'd expect them to meet today and hopefully a hotfix will take care of this Tomorrow(-ish) (tm). Assuming that they don't end up saying "hey, agents should pay crud." which I doubt they will.
Quote: PS: All of the RAM's mineral recycling got nerfed a ton. Their value has gone from Valuable to nearly wortheless, any reason for this change?
Actually that was just a bug in the mineral composition of the components. Hj÷rtur/Pong almost had a heart attack when he found out what the mineral composition was.
Hm, as far as I see, possibly because I've found out I'm doing agent missions for a borderline-legal agent corp (RSS, I love you!), my corp standings have been...Well..It's been a long way, but now newer members in our corp can do agent missions for them as well, due to corp standing. That is a reward, of kinds. Of course, if agent missions are kneecapped, my ~1 month of agenting is moot. And I'll be stuck with a ridicolous amount of Minmatarr shuttles, Bursts and Slashers. Not to mention the 125 mm gatlings. Heh. But people are missing the perspective: I get to shoot Amarr/ammatarr slavers out of the sky - legally! Where else could I do that?
(That I'm stationed in a system that neccesitates 6+ jumps for *all* courier missions is another matter entirely)
I will no doubt be extremely unpopular for what I'm about to say, but really, people: Stop whining. One guy writing he made 50+ mil ISK on Implant missions on one day. Does it really make sense that agent missions, in rewards alone, should buy you almost a BS per day?
I've gotten *one* implant mission, which was an 8 jump courier. That is out of the three-digit amount of missions done for 2 different level 3 agents. So, whining about not getting a 2-digit smount of implants a day really makes me want to point my fingers at you, and laugh. Want nerfing? Try being offered 79K for the new Damsel mission, and finding out Kruul was really Zor. I'd daresay 79K hardly makes up for seeing an NPC Raven at 25K.
On an end note: Regarding the RAM-wepaons/robotics/etc: I don't really understand why people bemoan that "now I don't get x Mega/ZYd/whatever out of refining something that looks like tech2 components!". Really. Try stopp letting your greed run off with you, just once. Please.
Hate me now, I care not. I never did agent missions intending to become insanely rich on implant sales.
